a smells-like-autumn cinnamon, ginger and orange brown sugar body scrub

We have entered into the cold feet time of year here. I admit that my cold feet often migrate towards the warmer side of the bed and the warmer body parts contained on that side of the bed. I figure that it is the least I can do to keep them soft. Freezing cold and rough feet just seems like a harsh punishment to inflict on your partner. This scrub might actually help a little with both – the cinnamon and ginger should help warm things up a little bit and the sugar scrub and oil will soften skin. Actually, it’s meant as a whole body scrub, but in my house it could also be known as a “for the love of Pete, would you do something about those feet” scrub.

You can add whatever spices you like – I will try it with Pumpkin Pie Spice or Apple Pie Spice next.

Cinnamon, Ginger and Orange brown sugar body scrub

  • 1/3 cup oil (I used grapeseed, but use any oil you like)
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • orange zest
  • juice of half an orange
  • 2 tsp ginger (or 3 tsp of fresh grated ginger)
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Mix it all together in a jar and store in the fridge to keep it fresh (it does have real orange juice and zest in it). Use it anywhere on your body that needs a little scrub, moisturizer or general healthy glow.

Even better, warm up afterwards with a ginger, cinnamon and orange bath salt soak.
