There are always chores to be done on the weekend around our place.
Ponies that are in desperate need of a good brushing.
Stalls that need cleaning.
Miscellaneous farm chores and brush burning to do.
Blackberry freezer jam to make.

love this peek into your life and love blackberry jam
What it doesn’t show is me falling on my arse in the barn and now sitting with my leg stretched out straight because it won’t bend. Sigh.
oh no, that can’t be good! hope you are okay–let me know (hugs)
I knew you wouldn’t stop creating something in your kitchen even with the cold weather arriving. I would so love to come spend time with your horses I miss having my own horse. You know your photos could be the cover of a story on simple living, they are beautiful
Thanks – though getting the kids motivated to do the work sometimes could be called anything but simple living. I wish you were able to come and spend some time with the horses. They love company and the kids don’t ride them enough.
I am pretty limited on my ability to ride now, but I love to brush and spend time with them. I used to go to a friends house to do just that. Luckily she was a friend and thought nothing of seeing my car and finding me out with her horse. There is something about the connection I have with them, it’s like meditation I just feel better after.
Oh my goodness is this where you live? I’m soooo jealous! I’m a country girl trapped in a city girl’s life…
Right now we live right next door to this farm, but will be moving over to the farmhouse in the next couple of months. My inlaws live there, but have decided to downsize and move to a smaller home.
Freezer jam? Oh YUM! And I SO have barn envy here, congratulations!!
Looks like a really satisfying day Heidi.
Ahhhhh….what a nice Sunday. Put me down for jealous. But happy you shared 🙂 Have a great week! I hope your leg is better ASAP.
Me too, but considering I’m sleeping on the couch cause I can’t get into bed, it’s not looking good for tonight. Wish I wasn’t so clumsy.
😦 On the bright side, you’re brilliant at a whole lot of other things. I just hope it feels better quickly.
My son would be envious of all the vehicles!!
Always a lot to do I guess with animals etc. The jam looks yummy..like one I think that my sister-in-law makes…Diane
The blackberry jam looks amazing!
Thanks – it’s my first time making blackberry jam, but it was easy enough. I just used the freezer jam recipe from the pectin box.
Yeah, blackberry freezer jam! That looks amazing as does your Sunday..we were out in the cold rain cleaning up leaves ~ I wish I had that tractor… 😉 Happy Sunday Heidi!
wow. i guess i didnt realize you lived on a farm. that is awesome. love the photos!
I too have tractor envy… it would make some of the work around here so much easier! I often dream of quiet Sundays, curled up with a good book or having an overly long lunch but there is too much to do on “days off”. LOL!!! Great pics Heidi x
Really, it’s the guy on the tractor that makes work easier for me around here. Soon enough the snow will come and there will be a bit more time for lunches and books. I hope.
Hey Heidi, hoping you’ve been “RICING” Resting, ICing and ElevatING your leg (with support behind the knee). If you’re still unable to bend it, hope you’ve had a visit to the doc by now? And don’t forget your Arnica (inside and out). If you haven’t used it (for bruising and inflammation) yet, you’ll be amazed.
I spent a few hours hanging out in emerg today. It’s a sprained MCL that should heal on its own, and I’ve been doing just what you said, except for the arnica, which I’ll have to look up. Never heard of it.
I remember my Grandmother having Arnica ointment at her place when I was really little and it is amazing (as I said earlier) how fast it works: homeopathic beads from the inside and ointment for the outside.

Thanks for the link – I had a look at it, and it does sound familiar now. I’ll send the husband for a look tomorrow.
Hope you’re feeling better really soon!
What busy weekends you guys have. All those chores, but it must feel rewarding getting them all accomplished (and I am sure the ponies are grateful for their brushing.)
Your home life posts always make me want to move to the country. I’d love less hustle and bustle Heidi!
Great Day, your place looks great!
